As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I was drawn in by the lively atmosphere and the tantalizing scents wafting from the kitchen. The market's commitment to quality is evident in its impressive selection of fresh seafood, a well-stocked butcher area, and a diverse range of Asian snacks and frozen goods. Customers rave about the lively dining experience, with options such as the dry pot and traditional hot pot, where you choose your ingredients and pay by weight. The flavors here are truly immersive, making for a delightful communal dining experience.
What impressed me most, however, were the on-site bakery offerings. The mochi donuts are a must-try and are gaining quite a reputation for their unique taste. According to one ecstatic customer, they're simply amazing! The market truly embraces diversity, offering treats that are halal and suitable for all diets.
The drink selection at Fresh International Market is also noteworthy. From Black Tea Latte with Brown Sugar Cheese Top to refreshing Strawberry Matcha Lattes, there’s something to quench every thirst. Their signature milk teas and flavored fresh milk options are especially popular, providing a sweet touch to your culinary adventure.
The market is not just about food; it’s about community. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring that your experience is enjoyable from start to finish. Accessibility is a key feature here, with wheelchair access and bike parking available. “ The Asian grocery scene is definitely getting competitive in Schaumburg, with Joong Boo down the street, Mitsuwa not too far away and H Mart opening...eventually. And yes, in case you didn't know, while it's called "International", all those nations are in Asia. We come here mainly for two things - either getting ingredients to make hot pot at home, or just eating hot pot here. They also have dry pot, which my wife and I really like as an option. You grab a basket and fill it with whatever veggies you want, then a separate one and fill it with proteins, then you pay by the weight. You can either get it hot pot style in a big bowl of hot broth, or dry pot where they cook it in the broth but serve your food already cooked. As far as the grocery selection, they have a big seafood selection and a decent butcher area. Also a lot of Asia snacks and frozen selection, and a small liquor section too. Produce is fine. But if you're making hot pot at home, they have the sliced meat, soup base, sauces, and a little frozen fish ball self-serve area. If you don't want to eat hot pot here, they serve other Asian hot dishes, and there's a bubble tea spot and bakery here, but I haven't tried anything else besides the hot pot. Sense a trend yet? It's not as big as Joong Boo, and it's bigger than the current H Mart for now but will be interesting to see how the new one compares. Overall it's a fine grocery store and we'll come back when that craving for mala spice strikes. ”
“ The mochi donuts are AMAZING!!! Plus everything is HALAL! And the service is amazing. Thanks Neha! ”
“ Great Asian market, they have everything from Hot pots, stir fry and boba teas. The staff is kind and helpful. They have a dine in area as well as carry out. ”
“ Decent Asian marketplace in schaumburg. This place tends to lean heavily towards Chinese goods, but I was able to find most of everything I needed across cuisines. Good selection of fresh produce and imports. ”
“ I usually go to H-Mart (Korean) or Mitsuwa (Japanese). This place is more Hong Kong/Chinese food focused. Below are the stand outs compared to H-mart & Mitsuwa. Likes: Hong Kong style fresh baked gods were the best I have had even rivaling Chinatown. I especially recommend the biscuit ones with preserved egg york. Excellent price which averages a little over a dollar a piece. I bought a very generous portion of Hong Kong style slow cooked beef stew with rice. Enough for 2 meals at least. There are 2 stations where they cook the raw food for you on the spot. I did not try this but it appears to be popular. ”
“ I love this place! The workers are all very nice, I had issues with my card and they were beyond patient with me. The boba and hotpot are also very delicious, I highly recommend for a date night or a fun experience for out of town friends ”
“ It's my first time try elite tea. Ordered the brown sugar boba milk tea. I waited like 5 mins to get my drink. 50% sugar and less ice. Quickly shake my drink and take the first sip after get my drink. Surprisingly, it's pretty good. It's the type of milk tea I like. The tea flavor is very strong, stronger than the milk flavor. It's less milky, less creamy but more fresh. Boba is very chewy, not so sweet. I feel fresh and pretty satisfied with my drink. If you live nearby, I'll recommend this place. My friend ordered fruit flavor drink which they don't like it. So I guess it's safer to order the traditional boba milk tea. LOL ”
“ Many many East Asian condiments focusing on Chinese. Not really anything for the Asian mid continent so if you are looking for Indian or Pakistani foods you can generally skip here. Good produce, lots of snacks, dry noodles, fresh noodles, frozen dumplings and noodles. I buy the small frozen chickens for stock. Far superior than the carcasses of a regular grocery store chicken. I skip both the meat and fish here. They do have food for carry out but it's on a table and not warm. Plus the bubble tea place inside is da bomb!!!! ”
